DO NOT ATTEND THIS FILM IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED
If you've never heard of the legendary Brazilian filmmaker Jose Mojica Marins then its time to wake the fuck up. Shame on you. If you're a fan of John Waters or Russ Meyer or Alejandro Jodorowksy, then shame on you doubly so. You need to get down to the ticket office and book a ticket to this show as it will sell out. Jose has put a curse on any cult movie fan who will not attend. And believe me, that dude knows some nasty black magic . So go go go get a ticket. You done it? Good then we can continue and you will not be infested with maggots tomorrow morning.
The maverick 72-year old director has recently completed his beloved Coffin Joe trilogy after forty long years. Like some deranged schizophrenic fusion of Romero, Jodorowsky, Lynch and a TV horror host, Marins directs and stars as Coffin Joe. The film opens with him being released from a looney bin, his home of four decades for the depraved crimes that featured in his earlier feature This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse, which hit cinema screens back in the 60s. Immediately a hunchback shows him a secret lair where loyal disciples pledge to wreck havoc on the world and to also help him find a superior woman to bear a child to coninue his evil bloodline for eternity. Insert evil laugh. Before you can say ay carumba, the screen is awash with full screen nudity, graphic violence, maniacal dialogue, ghosts, cheese torture, wild sets, intentional and unintentional laughs, groovy music and a scene you won't believe that involves [self censored for sanity reasons].
