Sono the director known for the controversial Suicide Circle, has upped the ante once again and created a film unlike any other. Sono's dazzling & demented pic sushis religion, family and sexual mores in an epic saga that follows a rebellious boy named Yu whose life is thrown into chaos following the death of his mother. Yu realises that to gain affection from his father (a catholic priest) he must perpetually commit sins like mass murder and upskirt photography. While he indulges in all sorts of perversions, he meets the man-hating Maria and the film settles down into an

intriguing mix of religious cults, martial arts and many nods to classic Japanese cult films like Female Convict Scorpion and more. Sono's nearly four hour epic flies by as it escalates from surreal goofiness through to an emotionally taxing and satisfying resolution.
