Simply an amazing documentary and worthy of all the praise its getting from around the globe. You cannot watch this and not have the image of youtube sensation Susan Boyle recently being admitted into a psych ward for over exposure. Well here's a too-good-to-be-true (but is!) tale you mightn't have heard about someone whose trajectory was similar to Boyle's if a little more underground.

Imagine someone filming the outtakes of your worst day at work. Ever. Imagine those clips being passed around the bootleg tape circuit two decades. Imagine that footage eventually becoming part of the pop culture fabric with the emergence of youtube. This is the incredible true tale of Jack Rebney, a spokesman for the Winnebago company whose profane outtakes grew in notoriety over the years while simultaneously he disappeared into the great unknown. Ben Steinbauer's instantly likeable doc starts with the Austin based filmmaker wondering what happened to that guy from those clips. And so begins his quest to locate and possibly befriend the mysterious Rebney who has literally disappeared up a mountain. Funny, sad and ultimately moving, the film ultimately asks us to question the psychological nature behind viral phenomena and the profound effect it has on its innocent subjects.
